§ 2-76. Terms of office and compensation of Special Magistrate.

  • The Special Magistrate(s) shall be appointed for a term of one year and shall receive an hourly rate of compensation as determined by the Town Council. Any Special Magistrate presiding over any hearing shall be compensated on an hourly basis but shall receive no less than three hours of compensation for each session attended plus the prorated hourly rate for any time in excess of three hours. Such initial three-hour compensatory time shall be inclusive of travel time to and from the hearing in an amount of travel time not to exceed an hour. Compensation shall only be paid for hearings held.
